Ram cricket club was first formed in September 1989 by a few youngsters who could not a game with Patel's Cricket Club.

From playing friendly games in the early days the Cricket club has gone from strength to strength. Ram Cricket club has now 3 Saturday Teams in the West Sussex Invitation Cricket League.

 

The History

Ram Sports and Social club was formed by the original 28 Ram Cricket club members on West Green Playing Field which is now our Home Ground. When the local council put the former Rugby club out to tender, A Committee was formed and a presentation was made to the council and we were selected by the council and as a result Ram Sports & Social Club was formed. The premises was in need of total renovation and a lot of hard work was put in by all the members to get the club fully refurbished. Also the members donated from their own pockets to pay for all refurbishments and furniture.

 

Ram Sports & Social Club was opened on June 15th 1996 and since gone from strength to strength. The Committee has worked extremely hard since the opening to run the club. The club has a flourishing restaurant and is valuable club for the local community.

 

Ram Sports and Social club is a non-profit organisation. It has raised thousands of pounds  for charitable causes like Crawley Hospital, Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital, The National Meningitis Trust, The Indian Earthquake Appeal and several other smaller charities.

 

The Future

Ram Sports & Social Club is planning an extension to the current premises for extra sporting and social facilities. It has already acquired planning permission for the facilities and is exploring it's monetary options. There are plans for starting coaching classes for youngsters in cricket,  football etc. The club is in the process of acquiring a mini-bus for the transportation to and from the sporting events.
